Stage5

The fifth and final stage of the Cammino dei Sette Laghi is relatively short and allows you to complete the route in the early afternoon, then having time to make any returns with complete peace of mind. The route leaves Pietramurata and heads north, using the cycle/pedestrian path that runs along the left bank of the Sarca river; along country roads between orchards and vineyards it then reaches the small town of Pergolese and then continues for a good flat stretch along the Rimone Canal, on the eastern edge of the vast Sarca Plain. From the town of Pergolese the route climbs up on dirt roads between groves and plots of vines, until it climbs over the hill and reaches the town of Calavino. From Calavino, a center particularly rich in historical, architectural and artistic evidence, the Camino descends into the Canevai gorge following the Path of the Roggia di Calavino, among spectacular waterfalls and ancient mills. Having reached the Due Laghi area, near Padergnone, the route runs along the north-west shore of Lake Toblino, ending in Sarche, the stage destination and conclusion of the Cammino dei Sette Laghi.
