3° STAGE: VEZZANO - CAVEDINE
The third stage is the most “mountainous” among those of the Cammino dei Sette Laghi. In its first half it winds along the western side of M. Bondone facing a significant difference in altitude, first uphill and then downhill. The climb from the town of Vezzano, along a path immersed in extensive coniferous and broad-leaved forests, allows you to reach Lago di Lagolo, an enchanting small lake basin located at 930 meters above sea level. From the lake, the next descent leads to Madruzzo, a tiny village nestled at the foot of the cliff on which the ancient castle of the same name stands. The second stretch of the stage runs with modest differences in altitude in the Cavedine Valley, partly along the roads that run through the countryside, partly through the sparse woods crossed by the so-called “Roman road”. The route up to Cavedine is easy and full of elements of interest, both for the naturalistic and historical-cultural components.

NOTES AND VARIATIONS TO THE ROUTE
The stage is quite challenging due to the difference in altitude, but still leaves time to visit the small but interesting villages along the route. For those who wish to avoid the climb up to Lagolo there is the possibility of following the part between Vezzano and Madruzzo using the well-marked paths that run along the base of the slope and passing through the town of Calavino.
